Ganja worth Rs 10 lakh recovered from Maruti car, two smugglers arrested
Dhamtari. Police have arrested two accused of inter-state ganja smuggling in Borai. Information was received from the informer that they were coming towards Orissa province in a Maruti Zen car transporting narcotics and ganja. On receiving the information, Borai police station in-charge at Borai check post barrier reached the barrier of Hamrah staff and checked the suspicious car in which on the basis of informer’s information, names and addresses of the suspects were asked.

MP.20 FA 2513 old used, after a thorough check inside the car by the suspects, three sacks containing the psychoactive substance ganja were found which were found present in the car. The witnesses were verified which appeared to be psychoactive drug like ganja and the suspects did not produce any valid document regarding the possession of the drug like ganja. The total weight was found to be 53 kg which was worth around Rs 10,60,000/-. – 01 used Maruti Zen car worth Rs 40,000/-, 02 mobile phones worth Rs 9500/- and cash worth Rs 1300/- totaling Rs 11,10,800/- have been seized. Which have been sealed in front of witnesses. If this act is found to be a crime against the accused, they will be punished. No. 01/24 Under Section 20 (B) Narcotic Act, the crime has been registered and the accused have been duly arrested and sent on judicial remand.
