India’s longest sea bridge ‘Atal Setu’ inaugurated

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the Rs 17.840 crore Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu, the country’s longest bridge and the longest sea bridge connecting Mumbai south to Nhava-Sheva in Navi Mumbai. On Friday, the Prime Minister also laid the first stone of an underground tunnel that will connect the Eastern Highway in Mumbai’s east to Marine Drive in Mumbai’s south. The 9.2 km long tunnel will be constructed at a cost of over Rs 8.700 crore.
