The forest blazed in Jhikli Tyari
Bharmour. The sequence of fires in the forests and mountains under Bharmour Forest Division is not showing any signs of stopping. On Thursday, mischievous elements set fire to the hill above Jhikli Tyari village of Kuthed Panchayat. Due to this, within no time the fire spread badly on the mountain and took a large part of it under its control.
Apart from this, there are reports of fire in forests and mountains in many parts of the region. However, the Forest Department has appealed to the people of the area to keep a close watch on those who set fire in the forests and mountains and to immediately give such information to the department, so that concrete action can be taken against such people.
It is noteworthy that in tribal sub-division Bharmour, incidents of fire in forests and mountains occur every year during the winter season.
But till now the department has not been able to reach the perpetrators of these incidents. However, the Forest Department also makes the villagers aware every year about the damage caused by forest fires and the damage to the environment.
Despite this, mischievous elements are not desisting from carrying out such incidents. The situation is such that Forest Department teams are busy extinguishing fires in different parts. On the other hand, the fire in the mountain near Jhikli Tyari has not been controlled yet and it is continuously spreading. This has also posed a big threat to the lives of wild animals.
