ED summons former Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar in Covid body bag scam
Mumbai: Uddhav Thackeray faction leader and former Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar has been summoned before the Enforcement Directorate on January 25 in the COVID body bag scam case.
Earlier in November last year, ED had summoned the former Mumbai Mayor in the COVID body bag scam case.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation claimed that one company was giving body bags for dead Covid patients to another company for Rs 2,000.
That company was offering the same body bag to the Central Procurement Department for Rs 6,800 and the contract was signed by the then BMC mayor and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Kishori Pednekar. Mumbai Police had also registered a case against Pednekar.
Earlier, the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police summoned Ramakant Biradar, former deputy commissioner of BMC’s Central Procurement Department (CPD), to probe allegations of irregularities involved in purchasing body bags for deceased COVID-19 patients. Was.
