Due to lack of water in Mayurbhanj, local people blocked the road
Mayurbhanj: Reports on Tuesday said that locals have blocked a road in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district due to water shortage. The administration had allegedly ignored the problems of the people.
Villagers blocked the road with buckets to collect drinking water. Baripada-Udala state highway was blocked by local people. More than a thousand people living in the village have played a role in blocking the road. But there is only one well for drinking water. That also dries up most of the time.
The villagers have complained to the administration several times to solve the problem, but no solution has been found. Therefore, they were forced to protest on the road and blocked the road by placing a bucket. Due to this, traffic between Baripada and Udala has come to a standstill. Baripada Town police station has reached the spot and is explaining to the local people.
