CPM has embraced extreme right policies of Centre

KOCHI: In a scathing critique, Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan accused the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPM] of adopting extreme right policies akin to those of the Union government and other right-wing administrations worldwide. Satheesan made these remarks during the inauguration of a public meeting held as part of the 11th CPM Party Congress at Marine Drive (K R Gouriamma Nagar) in Kochi on Sunday.

Highlighting what he perceived as the disintegration of the CPM, Satheesan asserted that the party failed to address any of the six major corruption allegations levied against its government. He went on to claim that the CPM leadership refrained from launching protests against the Union government and exhibited fear towards central agencies.

Commending the Communist Marxist Party (CMP), established by the late M V Raghavan, Satheesan applauded the party for taking a steadfast stance against communalism and fascism. The public meeting, presided over by CMP General Secretary C P John, featured UDF convener M M Hassan as the chief guest. Following the meeting, a rally commenced from Rajendra Maidan.

The upcoming program on Monday is scheduled to kick off at Town Hall, with P R N Nambeeshan hoisting the flag. C P John will inaugurate the delegates’ conference as part of the ongoing proceedings.
