7 killed, 8 injured in road accident in Baramulla

Baramulla: A vehicle met with an accident and fell into a deep gorge in Uri area of Baramulla district of North Kashmir on Wednesday. Seven people have died and about eight people have been injured in this accident. As soon as information about the accident was received, nearby people reached the spot. Police were also informed. The injured were taken to the nearest hospital for treatment. The rescue operation was carried out in slippery conditions due to extreme cold and snowfall. During this period a situation of chaos was observed. There was screaming in the hospital.

According to the information, on Wednesday afternoon, a vehicle slipped off the road and fell into a deep ditch in Bujthalan Tatmulla area of Uri. At least seven people were killed and several others were injured. A police officer said a rescue operation was immediately launched at the accident site. He said that due to snowfall the road has become very slippery. The injured have been taken to GMC Baramulla for treatment.
