After the incident, the police arrested the stepmother of the murderer. Anish, who lives in Ghazna village of Araul, has married Farzana for the second time. He has a 13-year-old daughter, Rehana, from his first wife. Late Saturday evening, Rehana was beaten to death by her stepmother Farzana.
When the daughter fell unconscious on the ground, they hid her among the sticks kept on the roof and planned to dispose of the body late at night. But before this the people of the village got wind of the whole matter and hundreds of people reached the house. Somehow he was rescued from the roof and taken to CHC. Where after investigation he was referred to Hallett.
