MD JPDCL directs for addressing grievances regarding Smart Meters
Managing Director, JPDCL Jammu, Vikas Kundal here today paid a surprise visit at Data Centre as well as Customer Care Centre in Gladni Grid Station Complex, Narwal.
During the visit MD JPDCL inspected the Customer Care Centre and directed the concerned officers to remain available 24×7 to resolve consumers’ grievances.
He also appealed to the general public to call on Toll Free numbers 1912/0191-2479122 in case of any grievances related to billing or power issues.
MD JPDCL was apprised about the system up-gradations which have been recently made in JPDCL software to connect it with Smart Meters and Banking Software to provide seamless experience to the end consumers of JPDCL.
MD JPDCL emphasised that JPDCL software should be continuously upgraded to meet challenging requirements as the consumer base of JPDCL is increasing and successful installation and shifting to Smart Meters shall require a lot of back end support.
He issued on spot instructions to the Data Centre Staff to keep a check on hooking and bypassing of meters through online mode and report such cases to the concerned sub-divisions for strict action against the erring consumers.
The MD was accompanied by Chief Engineer, (Distribution), Bavinder Kundal while Anil Verma, Executive Engineer IT & C-Division, JPDCL explained the overall working of IT Division to the inspecting officers.
