For information, let us tell you that Pakistan’s famous writer Tarek Fatah was born on 20 November 1949 in Karachi, Pakistan, formed after independence. He remained the leader of the Leftist student movement in the late 1960s and 1970s. This was the time when he was arrested twice by the Government of Pakistan. Subsequently, General Zia-ul Haq accused him of treason in 1977 and prevented him from working as a journalist in the country. He moved to Canada in 1987 and has since worked as a journalist.
