CUJ students receive practical training in CGH microarray technologies
Three postgraduate students from the Center for Molecular Biology (CMB), Central University of Jammu, participated in a 2-day practical training session on CGH microarray analysis organized by Agilent Technologies Inc., a multinational organization specializing in scientific, diagnostic and therapeutics. The workshop was held at a facility of the company in Manesar, Haryana and was aimed at motivating and assisting the trainees in developing new technologies and taking up research initiatives to tackle national health issues. The workshop demonstrated practical training on array-based comparative genomic hybridization technologies and its application in cytogenomics.
The course gave students knowledge and practical experience of technology. Students namely Aditri Dixit, Shalini Rai and Abhishek Kumar participated in this program as part of the ongoing efforts of the Center for Molecular Biology to provide scientific exposure of international standards to the students through various outreach programmes.
The Center for Molecular Biology at CUJ runs M.Sc. and PhD in Biotechnology programs and is supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
