Fierce collision between 2 trucks, one tragic death in the accident
Ambikapur. There was a direct collision between two trucks while overtaking on Belkota bridge on Ambikapur-Raigarh National Highway- 43. The driver of a truck died and 3 others were injured in the accident. After the accident, there was a jam on the National Highway for about 14 hours. The accident happened on the border of Batauli police station area and Raghunathpur outpost area. There was a queue of heavy vehicles for about 8 to 10 kilometers on both sides. Somehow the jam could be cleared in the afternoon, after which gradually the vehicles stuck in the jam were taken out. According to the information, at around 9.30 pm on Wednesday night, coal loaded truck number Rajasthan 02 GB 7167 was going towards Raigarh after loading coal from Ambikapur. On Belkota bridge, this truck had a head-on collision with a truck (number CG 15 AC 5403) going towards Ambikapur after loading Nilgiri wood from Sitapur side.
After the accident, the driver of the wood loaded truck got stuck between the two vehicles. The vehicles were separated by cutting them with cutters and the driver was taken out. He died on the spot. The truck helper was injured. The driver and helper of the other truck have been injured. Both of them have been referred to Ambikapur Medical College Hospital after first aid at Raghunathpur Hospital. After the accident, there was a huge traffic jam on NH 43. Raghunathpur outpost and Batauli police station reached the spot. Gradually the line of heavy vehicles started forming. Due to the jam for 14 hours, there was a queue of heavy vehicles till Raghunathpur towards Ambikapur and till Batauli towards Sitapur. Hundreds of vehicles got stuck. At 11.30, traffic started after removing the accident vehicles. Due to jam of heavy vehicles for about 8 to 10 kilometers, passengers and four-wheelers have been diverted from Raghunathpur via Turiyabira, Bargidih via Batauli. Due to this, vehicles have to travel an additional distance of about 25 kilometers. Police teams are busy clearing the jam. Traffic will be normal by evening.
