JK Grameen Bank employees protest for their demands

 In the wake of AIRRBEA’s call for a nationwide strike, JK Grameen Bank Officers’ Association, JK Grameen Bank Retirees’ Welfare Association, and JK Grameen Bank Employees` Association, observed a strike and held a day-long dharna in front of the head office of JKGB, Narwal Jammu.
All the branches of JK Grameen Bank remained virtually closed and a large number of employees and retirees participated in the strike to protest for their long-pending demands.
All three associations also submitted a memorandum to the Secretary, Gol, Ministry of Finance, DFS through Sanjay Gupta, Chairman of JK Grameen Bank.
Rashpal Choudhary, General Secretary of the JK Grameen Bank Retirees’ Welfare Association, highlighted the demands of retirees for parity of pension with special coverage for left-out cases, parity in computer increment for both serving and retired employees with retrospective effect and parity in compassionate appointments.
Satvinder Singh, General Secretary of the JK Grameen Bank Officers’ Association and Convener of the North Zone of AIRRBEA, highlighted the demands for the immediate revision of promotion rule, better service conditions, one-time special recruitment for 30,000 vacancies lying vacant in RRBs, and regularization of daily wage casual workers.
Gulshan Rana highlighted the shortage of staff in RRBs that has increased the workload on existing staff and also opposed the cross-selling of insurance products in RRBs.
Rajjat Sharma, General Secretary of JKGBEA, addressed the participants about various achievements of RRBs. Baljeet Singh, President, Bhartiya Poorav Sainik Bank Karamchari Sangh and Ajay Pal, Gen Secretary, BPSBKS, also addressed the participants about the prevailing issues in RRBs. Dhanwant Singh, President (JKGBRWA), CK Raina, Ranbir Singh, CS Toor, Lalit Kumar, Naina Gupta, Vice President of JKGBOA, and Ashray Sharma, Assistant General Secretary of JKGBOA, also spoke on the occasion.
