Three Post masters sacked for fake certificates
Kendrapara: India Post Department on Monday reportedly sacked as many as three branch post masters in Kendrapara district for furnishing fake educational certificates to get jobs.
The three post masters who have been sacked have been identified as Prassana Kumar Sethi, Soumya Ranjan Sethi and Mamashree Bharati, said sources adding that all of them are the residents of Bhadrak district.
Informing about the development, Postal Superintendent of Kendrapara division, Debaraj Sethi, said that during the verification of certificates, it was found out that the trio had furnished fake educational certificates to get jobs which is why they have been terminated from their services.
It is to be noted here that one Anita Jena of Bhadrak district had applied for the post of a Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) in Kendrapara division. She had submitted a matriculation certificate which was issued in the name of Adarsh Arya SS High School at Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh.
However, the concerned officials of the Post Department during the verification of certificates found out that Jena’s matriculation certificate was fake. Following this, the department verified the certificates of others and subsequently Prassana Kumar Sethi, Soumya Ranjan Sethi and Mamashree Bharati were caught.
Sources said that one of the trio was working for the last two years and the two accused had joined duties six months ago.
It is to be noted here that such fake certificate case had come to the fore in Balangir district last month. More than 19 persons were arrested for their involvement in the fake certificate racket. Taking a serious note of the case, the Crime Branch of Odisha Police took over the case.
