Car driving husband and wife arrested with ganja, goods worth Rs 7 lakh seized

Jashpur. Police is running a special campaign against illegal drug trade in Jashpur district. Under this campaign, a husband and wife were arrested today with 23 kg of ganja in Kolhenjharia outpost area. This couple was smuggling ganja by car. Police have also seized ganja and the car.

Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Shashi Mohan Singh, a special campaign is being run to curb the sale of drugs in the district. Under this campaign, vehicles are being checked by installing barricades in all the police stations of the district. Today, 23 kg of ganja was being brought from Odisha via Chhattisgarh in a UP number car.

Kolhen Jharia police, after receiving information about ganja smuggling, set up a blockade and arrested the husband and wife with 23 kg of ganja from their car. The ganja smuggler is a resident of Talsara in Sundergarh, Odisha. The value of the seized ganja and car is said to be around Rs 7 lakh.
