Fraud in the name of KBC, 3 fraudsters arrested
Korea. Superintendent of Police Korea has directed all the in-charges to resolve old pending cases. As a result, Cyber Cell Korea has achieved success in a case of cyber fraud. On July 21, 2022, applicant Satyam Gupta, father Rudra Kumar Gupta, resident of Schoolpara Baikunthpur, submitted a complaint letter to Superintendent of Police Korea regarding the fraud committed on him. The applicant had written in his complaint application that on 03.06.2022, through a WhatsApp call on the applicant’s mobile, a person named Rana Pratap Singh, claiming himself to be a bank manager from the KBC department of Mumbai, asked him to win the KBC lottery of Rs 25 lakh. It was told and the applicant was deceived that to take the KBC lottery you will have to deposit money as tax.
On which the applicant has deposited Rs 1,50,000/- in the account of accused Amit Saav. Again on 10.06.2022 it was said by the accused that if ten thousand more rupees will have to be deposited for the amount of Rs 25 lakh, then when the applicant refused and asked for the money back, the applicant was also abused.During the investigation, the information of the accused was scrutinized in the cyber cell, which revealed that all the accused are from Jharia, Dhanbad, Jharkhand. After which, under the direction of Superintendent of Police Korea Suraj Singh Parihar and guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Korea. A team under the leadership of Vinod Paswan, in-charge Cyber Cell was sent to Jharia Dhanbad on 16 March 2024 to trace and arrest the accused. The very next day, on March 17, the said team arrested all the 03 accused in this case, Amit Sao, father Gopal Sao, age 23 years, resident of taxi stand, Akash Kumar, father Dinesh Ram, age 24 years, resident of Jharia and Manish Kumar Singh, father Late Ramkumar Singh, caste Bhumihar, age 24. Year resident Jharia has been arrested from Jharia, Dhanbad, Jharkhand and brought to Baikunthpur district Korea. If the crime is found proven against the accused, sections 120 (B), 419, 420 IPC will be invoked. And after taking legal action under 66(D) IT Act, he has been sent to jail on judicial remand.
