Three arrested with heroin worth Rs 10 crore

Punjab: Bhikhiwind police have arrested three people of a four-member gang of drug smugglers and recovered 2 kg of heroin from their possession. The value of the recovered consignment in the international market has been estimated at Rs 10 crore.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, SSP Ashwani Kapoor said that two accused, Ajay and Ashish, residents of Khemkaran, were arrested on Friday.
His third associate Sajan was arrested on Saturday. However, the fourth member of the gang, identified as Balveer Singh (alias Baljinder Singh), is still absconding and the police is raiding his hideouts. Police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
