Robbery in AC coach of express train, 20 passengers lost their valuables
Chennai: Passengers of the air-conditioned coach of Yesvantpur-Kannur Express (train number 12292) on Tuesday complained that their valuables were looted while they were sleeping at night. The passengers, in their complaint to Tamil Nadu’s Dharmapuri police station and railway police, said the theft took place between Salem and Dharmapuri in the morning. Naufal, a passenger who boarded the train from Yesvantpur in Karnataka and was bound for Kannur in Kerala, said around 20 passengers in three AC coaches have lost their valuables. According to complaints, mobile phones and purses were also looted. Dharmapuri police officials told news agency IANS that they have received the complaint and have started investigation.
