Trust in the charisma of BJP candidate Godam Nagesh Modi
Adilabad: BJP candidate Godam Nagesh is an experienced leader with a political career spanning 30 years. He held several positions and was a minister in the Telugu Desam government twice and served as MP and MLA thrice. He joined BRS from Telugu Desam. Nagesh worked as a government teacher for a few years and later started working for Telugu Desam. His family background is political and he is the first generation of educated tribals.
“My overall image has been clean and this will help me win the Lok Sabha elections on a seat reserved for STs,” Nagesh said.
He expressed confidence that PM Modi’s charisma, construction of Ram temple and welfare schemes of the central government will help him win the Adilabad Lok Sabha seat. Here are excerpts from an interview below:
Question: What kind of response are you getting from people during this election campaign?
Answer: I am getting good response. People are supporting BJP because they have faith in the leadership of PM Modi. The Congress government here has failed to implement the six guarantees given to the people during the TS assembly elections. Within five months of forming the state government, the Congress government has started facing anti-incumbency sentiments.
Question: What issues are you highlighting during the election campaign?
Answer: We are highlighting the Central Government schemes that have been implemented in the Telangana state for the last ten years, especially Ujjwal Bharat, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, PM Kisan Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, Skill Development Scheme, Tribal Tribal Justice Maha Abhiyan. Creation of infrastructure like national highways and airways.
Many people benefited from these schemes in Adilabad parliamentary constituency. BJP cadre and leaders boothwise are personally meeting the beneficiaries of these central government schemes and requesting them to vote for BJP.
Question: What are your chances of winning?
Answer: I am getting support from people irrespective of caste, because my image has been clean for the last 30 years of my political career. I spent most of my life among the people of this area. We have a good network of leaders working on the ground and BJP is very active in the election of Adilabad Lok Sabha seat.
Question: Why should people vote for BJP?
Answer: After waiting for 500 years, the BJP government constructed Ram temple in Ayodhya and fulfilled its wish. People are ready to vote for BJP for ‘Desham Kosam.. Dharmam Kosam’. Most people want the leadership of Narendra Modi.
Q:What are your advantages?
Answer: In the 2023 elections, BJP won four out of seven assembly seats in this Lok Sabha constituency, and it finished third and second in two constituencies. BJP has Sarpanch, MPTC and ZPTC. These are our strong points to win this election.
In the assembly elections, BJP got 4,48,961 votes on these seven seats while Congress got only 251886 votes. The same trend can be expected in the Lok Sabha elections also.
Question: Didn’t you fail to bring the airport to Adilabad and revive the Adilabad unit of Cement Corporation of India during your tenure as MP?
Answer: I made serious efforts to accomplish these as BRS MP from Adilabad, but there was a lack of cooperation from the BRS government.
