Hyderabad News: BRS wins in Mahbubnagar BRS by-election
Hyderabad: Amid the decadal celebrations of Telangana state formation, BRS won the by-election of Mahbubnagar local body constituency on Sunday. BRS candidate Naveen Kumar Reddy secured 763 votes and won the by-election with a majority of 108 against his Congress counterpart Manne Jeevan Reddy. BRS’ victory in Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s home district is a major setback for the ruling Congress ahead of the counting of Lok Sabha election votes on Tuesday. The by-election was necessitated due to the resignation of sitting BRS MLC Kasireddy Narayana Reddy, who switched his loyalty to the Congress and won the Kalwakurthy assembly constituency in the 2023 assembly elections.
