According to news agency PTI, two loco pilots were injured in the accident. According to reports, the accident occurred when a stationary goods train was hit from behind by another train at Sirhind railway station. According to reports, the collision caused the engine of one of them to overturn on the other track and hit a passenger train. “There was no loss of life in this accident but loco pilots Vikas Kumar and Himanshu Kumar were injured,” PTI quoted an official as saying. The report quoted an official of Fatehgarh Sahib Civil Hospital as saying that Vikas Kumar suffered head injuries and Himanshu Kumar back injuries. According to a release issued by the Central Railway, the blockade imposed for works related to platform extension at CSMT and widening of platform at Thane station will end at 3.30 pm on Sunday.
