COIMBATORE: Forest officials recover elephant tusks from bushes in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore forest department has recovered an elephant tusk hidden in the bushes by unidentified persons. Official sources said Baskar (28), a resident of PNT colony in Veerapandi, had gone to drink alcohol behind a playground when he noticed an elephant tusk wrapped in a cloth and kept in the bushes. The length of the tusk was about four feet. He handed over the tusk to the town panchayat officials. Upon receiving information, forest department employees rushed to the spot and took possession of the tusk. Investigations are underway to trace the culprits.
