HMWSSB gears up for Bonalu festival in Golconda

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) on Friday completed all preparations to provide drinking water for the upcoming Bonalu festival. The Bonalu festival will begin from Golconda on Sunday. According to HMWSSB officials, drinking water points have been set up at various locations from the fort stairs to the Bonalu area. They have prepared drums, synthetic tanks, pumps, pipelines and stands for the purpose in the cooking area. The officials have conducted trial runs for supplying water through pipelines. Additionally, water packets and glasses are available and tents have been set up near water camps. Water supply points have been set up in the respective areas as per availability. These include drinking water facilities set up at Ramdas Badhikhana, Chottabazaar, GHMC ward office and Langar House, said a senior official of the water department.
