Patiala: Two arrested with 6 kg opium

Patiala: Rajpura police arrested two drug smugglers with 6 kg opium on Thursday. SP (City) Sarfraz Alam said that at the checkpoint near T-point on Jandoli road, ASI Gurwinder Singh, in-charge of KSM police post, Rajpura and his team signalled a car to stop. Two people in the car identified themselves as Sukhvir Singh and Gurpreet Singh, residents of Mandoli village near Kheri Gandia. When the police searched the vehicle, a bag containing 6 kg opium hidden under the seat was found. Both Sukhvir and Gurpreet were arrested under section 18/61/85 of NDPS Act. They were produced in the court, from where they were sent on five-day police remand.
