Two killed, two injured in collision between bike and van in Phagwara

Phagwara: A motorcyclist and his five-year-old nephew died on the spot while the other pillion riders, his sister-in-law and her daughter, were seriously injured when their motorcycle collided with a van parked on the national highway near Haveli in Phagwara this afternoon.

A team of Phagwara police rushed the four to Phagwara civil hospital where doctors declared motorcyclist Mandeep Rattu (35) and his nephew Vinay (5) dead. Paramjit Kaur (35) and her daughter Harmanpreet (5) sustained serious injuries and were admitted to the hospital. All were returning from Jalandhar after meeting their relatives. Police have registered a case against the pickup van driver and handed over the bodies to the relatives after post-mortem.
