Kesali Apparao said, Manyam district will be drug free

Parvatipuram: Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CRPC) Chairman Kesali Apparao and member Gondu Sitaram said that comprehensive steps would be taken to make Manyam district a drug-free district with the cooperation, coordination and participation of government departments through a joint action plan under the aegis of the District Women and Child Welfare Department. Apparao held a review with government departments here on Friday. On the occasion, installation of CCTV cameras in medical shops, bars and liquor shops was suggested to tackle the drug problem. Apparao said Andhra Pradesh has advanced technology and experts for drug control and enquired about what action is being taken to curb the menace. He said the state government is giving high priority to drug control and a committee has been formed with some state ministers to discuss and formulate plans for control measures. The review was attended by ICDS PD M N Rani, District Child Welfare Officer A Satyanarayana and others.
