Betrayal after betrayal…woman targeted by husband and brother-in-law

Agra: A shocking case has come to light in Agra, UP. Where a married woman has filed a case against her husband and in-laws for dowry harassment, assault and abuse. The woman told that earlier her husband used to harass her, so her in-laws got her married to her brother-in-law. After which she had four children. But now the brother-in-law turned husband has run away with some woman. Now the wife is unable to understand how she will raise her children.
This case is from Etmaduddaula area. The woman is a resident of Nagla Chhidda, Hariparvat. She told the police that she was married to Prakash in the year 2009. He was an addict, he used to beat her every day. Then her in-laws supported her and got her divorced from her husband. Her in-laws kept the stamp paper on which the divorce was done. Then they got her married to her brother-in-law Purushottam.
The woman told that brother-in-law turned husband Purushottam kept her with love. They also had four children. But when her husband died, Purushottam also changed. He started harassing her everyday. He started telling her that he was trapped. The woman alleges that her husband was pressurizing her to jump into the well along with the children. Her in-laws did not support her this time. They too changed. Troubled by this, she came to her parent’s house. Then on 7th July, she went back to her in-laws’ house, Katra Wazir Khan, where she could not find her husband Purushottam. Her in-laws thrashed her. Abused her and drove her away. They told her that Purushottam has run away with the woman. Now the woman is unable to understand what to do. How will she raise her children. She went to the police station and filed a written complaint.
