Chhattisgarh: Cousin brothers killed brother, then threw the body in the river to hide evidence
Raigarh raigarh news. Vedram Rathiya (age 45 years), resident of village Pulaiant Sisringa, informed Dharamjaigarh police station that his elder brother Balram Rathiya (age 50 years) was beaten to death with sticks by his cousins Kartik Ram Rathiya and Dashrath Rathiya in a land dispute on the night of July 18. On the information, a case was registered against the accused under crime number 69/2024 section 194 BNSS and crime number 193/2024 section 103, 238, 3(5) Indian Penal Code. The informant told that he is an eyewitness to the incident, in the night in front of Kartik Ram’s house, Kartik Ram and his brother Dashrath were beating Balram Rathiya with sticks. Dashrath Rathiya hit Balram Rathiya’s head several times due to which Balram Rathiya died on the spot. When the deceased went to his house in the morning, his body was not at home, Kartikram Rathia and Dashrath Rathia were also absconding. chhattisgarh
chhattisgarh news Seeing the seriousness of the incident, the police station in-charge Dharamjaigarh Inspector Kamla Pusam Thakur informed Superintendent of Police Divyang Kumar Patel and Ram Gopal Kariyare, Additional Superintendent of Police Raigarh-Rural, SDOP Dharamjaigarh Siddhant Tiwari, under whose guidance, immediately along with his staff, both the suspects – Kartik Ram Rathia and Dashrath Rathia were traced and taken into custody. On strict interrogation, both of them accepted to have committed the incident in a land dispute and told that to avoid the crime, they took the body to Mand river in a tractor and threw it from above.
Raigarh Murder TI Kamla Pusam, along with her staff and villagers, took out the body from Mand river. After the Panchnama proceedings, the post mortem was done and a short PM report was obtained from the doctor in which the nature of death was written to be homicidal. On the identification of the accused, evidence which could be seized from the crime scene Pulaiant Sisringa was seized.
The accused told that they first tried to take the dead body on a motorcycle and when they were unsuccessful, they used a tractor. On the memorandum of the accused, the wooden stick used in the crime, motor cycle HF Deluxe number CG 13 G 5955 and Sonalika tractor have been recovered and seized. Accused- (1) Kartik Ram Rathiya father late Amar Sai Rathiya age 45 years (2) Dashrath Rathiya father late Amar Sai Ratiya 52 years both residents of village Pulaiant Sisringa police station Dharamjaigarh have been arrested today by Dharamjaigarh police on the charges of murder and hiding evidence and sent on judicial remand.
