NIA filed chargesheet against Goldy Brar and his associates
Chandigarh: The National Investigation Agency today filed a chargesheet against 10 accused in a case related to the firing at the house of a local businessman by associates of terrorist Goldy Brar. Two accused, including foreign resident Brar, named as the main conspirator in the case, are absconding. He has been accused of forming a gang to carry out terror activities in India. His close associate Gurpreet Singh alias Goldy Dhillon, who is absconding, has been charged as a co-conspirator. Brar’s associates had fired at the businessman’s house in January this year.
The foreign terrorist had demanded money from the businessman. Brar and Dhillon had recruited the arrested accused in their terror gang. The NIA investigation also found that the main conspirator was running a large terror-extortion-narco network through his India-based associates. They were involved in smuggling of arms and ammunition, sale and purchase of narcotics, distribution of proceeds from the drug trade and attacks on Brar’s hideouts, etc. All the 10 accused have been chargesheeted under relevant sections of the IPC, UA(P) Act, Arms Act and NDPS Act.
