Theft at Congress MLA’s house, thieves flee with Rs 12,000
Bhopal: A case of theft has come to light at the residence of Congress MLA Jaivardhan Singh in Madhya Pradesh’s capital Bhopal. Thieves fled with Rs 12,000 from the cupboard. Police is investigating the case on the basis of CCTV footage.
Habibganj police station in-charge Ajay Soni gave information about the case on Thursday. He said that on August 13, information was received about the theft incident at the residence of former minister Jaivardhan Singh. Police reached the spot and investigated the staff room there, in which the lock of the room was found broken. The items in the cupboard and brief case were lying in disarray, it was tampered with for the purpose of searching something.
He said that we were informed that there were Rs 12,000 in the brief case, which was stolen. There were also some important documents there, which the thieves did not take with them. Prima facie it seems to be a case of theft. We called the forensic department on the spot and they took scientific evidence.
Police station in-charge Ajay Soni said that we searched the entire house. Also, CCTV footage is being scanned. On the basis of suspicion, some people have been detained and are being questioned. Very soon the thief will be arrested and the case will be revealed.
According to the information, Jaivardhan Singh’s government bungalow is located in Char Imli area, just 100 meters away from the CBI office. Many senior officials including ministers also live here. This is one of the VVIP areas of the city. Despite this, the thieves broke the security circle and committed the crime.
Let us tell you that Jaivardhan Singh is the son of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh. He reached the assembly for the first time in 2013 as an MLA. After this, he also managed to win the 2018 assembly elections. In Kamal Nath’s government, Jaivardhan Singh was given the responsibility of Urban Development Minister. Jaivardhan Singh is currently an MLA from Raghogarh assembly seat.
