Gates of Bango Hasdeo Dam opened

Late on Saturday night, in view of the rising water level of the dam, the Water Resources Department opened three gates. Two more gates were opened on Sunday morning. About 50 thousand cusecs of water is being released into the Hasdeo river.
Due to continuous rains in Korea, Chirmiri and Korba, the water level has increased by more than 98 percent. The administration had already issued an alert in the Hasdeo submergence area. On the other hand, the hydel plant built in Bango dam is also being operated at full capacity. On the other hand, three gates of Darri Barrage have already been opened. With the opening of the gates of Bango dam, the water pressure on Hasdeo Darri Barrage will increase further. Many more gates of Darri Barrage are also likely to be opened. Due to opening of the gates of both the dams, some areas located on the banks of Hasdeo river in Sitamarhi area of the city have been flooded.
