Woman DSP given responsibility to investigate against MLA, rape case

Jind: Ahead of the Haryana Assembly elections, Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) MLA from Narwana in Jind district, Ramniwas Surjakheda, seems to be in trouble. A rape case has been registered against Surjakheda. According to the report, a woman from Punjab has filed a complaint regarding this matter 2 days ago. In the complaint, Surjakheda and his PA (Vinod) have been accused of rape.

The woman (20) alleges that three years ago (in 2021) Surjakheda sexually exploited her on the pretext of getting her a job. According to Haryana Police, an SIT has been formed to investigate the matter. The SIT is headed by a woman DSP. Sources say that the woman had earlier complained against the MLA to the Patiala Police in March, but later she had settled the matter. According to sources, the investigation also includes whether the woman was pressured to compromise. This controversy can become a noose around Surjakheda’s neck. Actually, the JJP MLA is going to join BJP on September 1. Meanwhile, the MLA has called it a conspiracy and has demanded an impartial investigation of the matter.

Ramniwas Surjakheda has given clarification on this issue. He has posted on social media that some anti-social elements have registered a case against him. He said, ‘It is very sad that a conspiracy has been hatched to weaken me just before the elections. I never thought that politics would stoop to such a low level. I am fully prepared for the ordeal. I appeal to the law to conduct an impartial investigation of the entire matter. I am fully and always ready to cooperate.’
