Himachal: Industry Minister heard public problems in Nahan
Himachal Pradesh: Industry, Parliamentary Affairs, Labour and Employment Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan today heard the grievances of people from the surrounding areas at the Circuit House in Nahan. The complaints and demands mainly focused on issues related to electricity, water supply and road infrastructure. While many complaints were resolved on the spot, others were forwarded to the concerned departments for prompt action. The remaining issues would be resolved soon, the minister said. Addressing a gathering, Chauhan stressed the importance of maintaining the pace of development and said the progress of a region is linked to its infrastructure and public welfare. He acknowledged that despite limited resources, the state government is committed to working for the benefit of the people and is ensuring that no public service is disrupted.
The minister also mentioned the state government’s efforts to implement development projects as well as recover from the recent natural calamity. He said the Rs 150 crore initiative ‘Him-Unnati Yojana’ launched to promote natural farming will not only benefit sustainable agriculture but will also uplift the farming community in the state. Chouhan also spoke about the welfare scheme ‘Mukhyamantri Sukh-Aashray Yojana’ for orphaned and destitute children. Under this scheme, the state government will bear the expenses related to the upbringing, education and housing of the children. Children above the age of 18 will get an annual scholarship of Rs 1 lakh and a monthly scholarship of Rs 4,000 for coaching and hostel fees. Apart from local people, officials of various departments were also present on the occasion.
