Woman secretary threatened with death, villager arrested
Masturi police has arrested Rakesh Kumar Dubey (age 50 years), accused of indecent behaviour and assault on a female panchayat secretary, and sent him on judicial remand.
The incident took place on 20 September 2024, when Kiranlata Khandekar, secretary of Gram Panchayat Jaitpur, was holding a monthly meeting with the sarpanch, panch and villagers in the panchayat bhawan. During the meeting, Rakesh Dubey reached the panchayat bhawan and started demanding signature on his father’s death certificate. The secretary clarified that the death certificate would be made from there on the basis of the report of Bilaspur hospital. On this, Rakesh Dubey got furious and threatened to kill and started hitting with his hand and abusing, obstructing government work. chhattisgarh news
On the complaint of the secretary, the police took immediate action and registered a crime against the accused. Accused Rakesh Dubey has previously been accused of assaulting government servants and obstructing government work, under which cases are also registered. chhattisgarh
