Jalandhar: 17 interstate arms smugglers arrested in 2 weeks

Jalandhar: Jalandhar police has busted an interstate gang of arms smugglers in a major operation that lasted over two weeks. Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma said they have arrested 17 criminals, including Kannu Gujjar, a close associate of Jaggu Bhagwanpuria.
Gang kingpin Gujjar was brought from Kapurthala jail on a production warrant. He said over 38 criminal cases are registered against the accused. Sharma said the police have recovered a huge quantity of drugs and weapons from the accused, including 18 weapons, 66 cartridges and 1.1 kg heroin.
