Chandigarh: Show cause notice to 46 election officials

Chandigarh: The District Election Office has issued show cause notices to 46 presiding, assistant presiding and polling officers who did not attend the second rehearsal for conducting elections in Kalka assembly constituency. Officials said that in case of not responding to the notice, the election office has decided to take strict action against them under the departmental and People’s Representation Act, 1951. SDM and Kalka Election Officer Rajesh Punia said that the training of these officers took place on September 24 in the Indradhanush auditorium. He said that during this time 46 employees were absent, to whom show cause notices have been issued.
