Punjab: 16 new cases of stubble burning reported

Punjab: The state reported 16 incidents of farm fires on Wednesday, taking the total number to 171. Five cases of paddy stubble burning were reported in Kapurthala, followed by Tarn Taran (four), Amritsar (three), Gurdaspur (one), Jalandhar (one), Patiala (one) and Sangrur (one). The state had witnessed 119 and 83 such cases during the same period in 2023 and 2022, respectively.
