Jalandhar: Eight couples tied the knot in a mass marriage ceremony
Jalandhar: A mass marriage ceremony was organised for eight couples from underprivileged families on Sunday by Sarva Naujwan Sabha and Sarva Naujwan Welfare Society in collaboration with Chardikala Sikh Organisation, UK. The ceremony took place at Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Model Town as part of the 34th annual celebrations of the Sabha. The marriage rituals were performed in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Several prominent personalities from across Punjab attended the event to bless the newlyweds, including former Union Minister Som Parkash and his wife Anita Kainth, Dasuha MLA Karambir Singh Ghumman, Phagwara MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, former Chairman of National Commission for Scheduled Castes Vijay Sampla, industrialist KK Sardana, AAP leader Joginder Singh Mann and Phagwara Market Committee Chairman Tavinder Ram.
ADC, Phagwara, Anupam Kaler also attended the event. Spiritual leaders like Sant Gurcharan Singh Nirmal Kutia Wale Pandava and Sai Pappal Shah of Bharomajara also blessed the couples. NRIs including Surinder Mahe from USA, Harjinder Kumar Kanda from France, Bipin Chumber from USA, Gurdev Singh Banning from UK and Palwinder Kaur Bhogal from Belgium added significance to the event by their presence. The newly weds were presented with marriage certificates, gifts, jewellery and essential household articles.
