Pregnant clerk loses baby after being ‘denied’ leave by CDPO
KENDRAPARA; A woman clerk lost her baby after being allegedly denied leave by the child development project officer (CDPO) even as she experienced severe labour at her office in Kendrapara district. The shocking incident reportedly took place on October 25.
An employee of the Women and Child Development department in Derabish block, 26-year-old Barsha Priyadarshini said she was in her seventh-month of pregnancy and attended office regularly. On the fateful day, she experienced severe labour pain while working in the office following which she requested CDPO Snehalata Sahoo and other staff to take her to the hospital. However, the CDPO did not pay any heed to her repeated pleas, she alleged.
