Abohar: Man dies in hit-and-run, wife injured

Punjab: A man from Azimgarh died on the spot while his wife was injured when a speeding Scorpio allegedly hit their bike near Alamgarh village, about 5 km from here. Satpal (38) and his wife Pushpa (36) had gone to Rupnagar village near the Indo-Pak border to celebrate Bhai Dooj yesterday. The couple was returning to their village on their bike today when a speeding Scorpio allegedly hit them near Alamgarh. The Scorpio dragged the bike for a long distance and then sped away. Satpal’s body was taken to a hospital in an ambulance located on the national highway. Passersby admitted the injured woman to the civil hospital for treatment. Police said an investigation into the incident has been started.
