Jalandhar: Football tournament starts at Rayat Bahra Education City

Jalandhar: Football tournament began today at Rayat Bahra Education City in which 32 teams from different regions are participating. The tournament was inaugurated today by Campus Director Dr. Chander Mohan. He said, “The aim of the tournament is to promote sportsmanship and excellence in the region with an aim to create awareness about sports among the youth and provide them a platform to showcase their hidden talent.” In the inaugural match, the team from Gujjarpur performed brilliantly and won 1-0 over Chabbewal. Sports Officer Gurpreet Singh announced that the winning team will get a trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 21,000, while the runners-up will be given a cash prize of Rs 1,000. The team finishing third will get Rs 5,000.
