Tigress Zeenat still in Jharkhand, efforts underway to bring her back to Odisha
Mayurbhanj: The efforts are still on to bring back tigress Zeenat from Jharkhand to Odisha. The tigress had been brought from Maharashtra to Odisha via an animal exchange program.
According to reports, efforts are underway to bring back Zeenat. The forest department is trying to bring back the tigress to Similipal from the Jharkhand forests. The tigress is now roaming in the Jharkhand forests.
The tigress who came from Maharashtra, is still roaming in the Jharkhand forests. The forest department is keeping a close eye on Zeenat. A special team is still in Jharkhand and is monitoring the situation.
Although it is being considered to bring back tigress Zeenat by tranquilizing her, this is not an easy process said reports. Zeenat has not eaten anything for the past four days and is getting weaker day by day. It is not safe to tranquilize her in such a condition. However, the department is continuing its efforts to bring back the tigress, said Forest and Environment Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia.
