Rare royal owl rescued in Odisha’s Bhadrak district
Bhadrak: A rare royal owl has reportedly been rescued in Bhadrak district of Odisha on Monday. The big owl was rescued from a garden in the Jhatiasahi village under Radhaballavpur panchayat in Dhamnagar Block.
As per reports, Laxmipriya Das, daughter of Ganesh Das of Jhatiyasahi village rescued the big royal owl from their garden today morning.
On Monday morning she had reportedly gone to their garden for some work when she saw that an owl was being attacked by crows. Within no time she drove away the crows and rescued the owl.
Later, as she brought the owl to home, people recognized that it was a royal owl, the carrier of Goddess Laxmi. Accordingly, people started worshipping the owl.
After the news spread about the owl, the villagers have started to flock to the house of Laxmipriya to witness the rare owl and to offer prayer.
As of now, the owl has been kept in a cage safely. However, it has been informed that the bird will be handed over to the Dhamnagar Forest Department soon.
