Jalandhar: Mobile and knife recovered from jail

Jalandhar: SSP Kapurthala Gaurav Tura today morning conducted a surprise inspection of Modern Jail Kapurthala. The drive was carried out by a large team comprising two SPs, four DSPs, eight SHOs, three unit incharges, 150 police personnel and jail department officials. During the inspection, several prohibited items were recovered from the jail premises, including a mobile phone, a sharp iron bar made like a dagger, four knives, three small metal nails, an iron pipe about 2.5 feet long and a wooden stick of the same length. The SSP said that legal action is being taken against those responsible for keeping these items. The SSP said that such surprise checks will continue to be conducted regularly to maintain law and order in the jail premises. He said, “These inspections are important to maintain peace and security inside the jail.”
