Stripped, injured youth rescued from Naraj barrage side in Cuttack district
Barang: In a rare incident, a stripped and injured youth was rescued by Police from the side of the Naraj barrage in Barang area of Cuttack district in Odisha yesterday night. The victim youth had been seen seeking help without wearing any clothe, from passer-by at night. The scene has been captured in the CCTV.
As per the information, a youth was rescued by the CDA Phase 2 police from Naraj Chowk in Barang late last night.
According to locals, a youth and a girl were sitting on the banks of the river Kuakhai at 8 pm on a scooty parked on the side of the Naraj Barrage when some anti-social youths came and beat them up.
However, there is no trace of the girl who came with the youth.
The seriously injured youth was later spotted on CCTV footage, naked and asking for help.
On receiving information, police personnel from the Phase II police station reached the spot. The Zone ACP also reached the spot late at night. Police rescued the youth and sent him to SCB Medical College and hospital for treatment.
Police are enquiring about the matter from the locals and analysing the CCTV footage. Police have seized the scooter (OD 34Q8489) parked near the Naraj barrage. Further investigation of the matter is underway.
