Neet Aspirant Dies By Suicide Over Harassment By Coaching Staff In Maharashtra

Student suicides in the country are a cause for concern. Recently, a NEET student committed suicide. A 17-year-old student from Chandrapur in Maharashtra was preparing for the national level medical entrance exam NEET. He had joined a residential coaching institute called Janta Career Launcher located locally. However, on Thursday night, the student committed suicide by hanging himself from a fan in his room.
Upon receiving the information, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the student’s body to the hospital for postmortem. Later, the student’s parents were informed. The parents immediately reached the spot after learning about their son’s death. The student’s parents told the police that they were being harassed by the coaching center staff. They filed a complaint to this effect. Based on the complaint of the victim’s family members, a case was registered against four employees of the coaching center. An investigation has been initiated to this extent.
