Good news for Team India.. CoE green signal to play T20 series with South Africa..!
Team India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill will be available for the upcoming T20 series against South Africa. He missed the Tests and ODI series due to a neck injury in the recent first Test against South Africa. The captain recently achieved full fitness during rehabilitation at the BCCI Center of Excellence (CoE). Doctors have declared that Gill is fully fit to play in all formats. Gill has fulfilled all the fitness and criteria required to return to competitive cricket.
The doctors have been closely monitoring his recovery process. The results have been reported to be satisfactory. Shubman Gill will be officially released from the Centre of Excellence. It is known that Shubman Gill has been included in the team selected for the five-match T20 series against South Africa starting December 9. The BCCI had made it clear during the selection that he would be available for the T20 series only if he gets fitness clearance. He will now be seen in the T20 series after regaining fitness.
Gill retired due to injury while batting in the first innings of the Kolkata Test against South Africa. He could not play in that match. He missed the two Tests and the ODI series as well. He reached the BCCI Center of Excellence this week. India and South Africa are currently facing each other in a three-match ODI series. India won the ODI in Ranchi and Raipur and are level at 1-1 in the series. The third ODI will be played in Visakhapatnam on Saturday. Both teams are hoping to win this decisive match and clinch the series. Meanwhile.. the T20 series is set to start from December 9. The first match will be in Cuttack, the second match in New Chandigarh on December 11. The remaining three matches will be played in Dharamsala on the 14th, Lucknow on the 17th, and Ahmedabad on the 19th.
