MP: In Maheshwar, a social worker has defrauded young people of lakhs of rupees by promising them fake government jobs.

Madhya Pradesh: In Maheshwar, a man claiming to be a social worker has allegedly defrauded unemployed youths of lakhs of rupees by falsely promising them government jobs.

According to reports, the incident occurred in Chhoti Khargone village, where Ajay Mansare is accused of targeting youths from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC). He claimed to have strong political connections and assured them of securing jobs in the Cooperative Department through a so-called “offline recruitment” process.

According to the police, Ajay presented himself as a social worker and gained the trust of youths from his own community. He allegedly used the names of a Lok Sabha MP and other influential leaders to instill fear and build credibility.

He convinced the victims that jobs could be secured without any official advertisement. Desperate for employment, the youths took out loans or spent their savings to pay him. Police have found evidence of fraud amounting to ₹2.72 lakh, although this figure may increase as more victims come forward.
