Advisor arrested by CBI, accused of demanding bribe
Delhi. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday said it has arrested a private consultant for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe from a person to help his firm settle false EPFO dues. . A senior CBI official said that on the basis of a complaint, a case was registered against Sachin Jashani, a private consultant, and Neeraj Singh, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, Rajkot.
Jashani had demanded bribe on behalf of Singh for false settlement of EPFO dues imposed on the complainant’s firm, the official said. The CBI laid a trap and caught Jashani red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe. The CBI said that searches were conducted at the premises of the accused in Rajkot. The arrested accused was produced before the competent court and remanded to CBI custody, an official said.
