3 killed, 10 injured in Mumbai fire

Maharashtra: Three members of a family died tragically in a fire that broke out in a ground-plus-one-story building in Goregaon West on Saturday morning. The victims were sleeping when the fire broke out. Before the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) arrived, nearby residents tried to douse the flames with buckets of water, but their efforts were in vain, and the family could not be saved.
A fire was reported at around 3 a.m. Saturday morning in a ground-plus-one-story building on Rajaram Lane, Bhagat Singh Nagar, near Janta Stores in Goregaon West. The fire was confined to electrical wiring and household items on the ground floor, and to the clothing of three people – two men and a woman – on the first floor. The exact room number was not known.
Before the arrival of the MFB, nearby residents initially tried to douse the fire with buckets of water. Firefighters later cut off the power supply and brought the fire under control using buckets of water. All three people were rescued by firemen and taken to Trauma Care Hospital in a police van and a private vehicle.
